Dra. Paula Ávila
Doctor Paula Avila has 14 years of experience in the Aesthetic Medical field. Born and raised in San Jose Costa Rica, she knew from a young age she would pursue her career as a medical professional. The start of her medical journey in Costa Rica began with a graduate degree from the Medical School at the University of Ibero-America UNIBE, specialized in Health Sciences, offers Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing and Psychology.
Doctor Avila then traveled to Argentina to complete her specialization in Aesthetic and Antiaging Medicine where she very quickly realized that she had much more desire to continue her studies and obtain more knowledge in the technology related to her profession. In 2012, she moved to Barcelona Spain and acquired her master’s degree in Laser Medicine and Phototherapy. This continuing education allows Doctor Avila to provide a wide range of treatments to her patients in a safe and professional manner.
Once Dr. Paula completed her master’s degree, she returned to Costa Rica and opened her first clinic in Playa Tamarindo in 2014. This step in her career unfolded yet another opportunity to broaden her education. Understanding the needs of her patients, and seeking to provide positive results, Doctor Avila set out to secure her third postgraduate degree in Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery at the University of Brazil. Her advancement in the field of aesthetics in the province of Guanacaste, Costa Rica, makes her a pioneer in the area.
As an active associate of CIMA Guanacaste Hospital (the first private hospital in the province), Dr. Avila carried out a broad spectrum of consultations between the years of 2015-2019. In this field of constant development, the Doctor ignites her desire to explore a new course of study. As she advances in her fourth postgraduate degree, Bioidentical Hormone Therapy at the University of San Pablo de Tucumán in Argentina, she is prepared for the opportunity to safely attend to her cases of hormone replacement. Hormone Therapy is an important axis in anti-aging, metabolism, reproduction, growth, and sexual function.
Dr. Avila has treated more than 15,000 patients, including multiple procedures with safe, confident, and harmonious results.
